ODIN Forvaltning AS is one of the largest equity fund managers in Norway. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SpareBank 1 Gruppen AS.
ODIN was established in 1990 under the name Independent Fund Management. The aim was to provide equity fund management across the Nordic region. In order to emphasise the association with the Nordic region, we changed name to ODIN Forvaltning AS in 1992. Our logo consists of Odin's eye encircling Sleipnir - Odin's eight-legged horse. The monthly report, Hugin & Munin, is named after Odin’s two ravens.
ODIN Norden is our oldest equity fund. The fund was established on 1 June 1990. At the end of 1990, our second fund, ODIN Finland, was established. In June 1992, ODIN Norge became a reality, while ODIN Sverige and ODIN Maritim were established towards the end of 1994. Our two next funds, ODIN Offshore and ODIN Eiendom, were both launched in August 2000.
We took over the management of ODIN Europa and ODIN Europa SMB on 24 November 2004. These funds were previously fund-in-fund products, managed by Swedbank Robur Fonder. On 12 June 2007, we took over the management of ODIN Global and ODIN Global SMB. These funds were previously managed by Franklin Templeton as fund-in-fund products.
Taking over the global funds has given us the opportunity to invest freely throughout the world in any industry. The global funds are thereby investment options for our customers who want to diversify their geographic risk and have access to ODIN's value-oriented investment philosophy on a global basis.
